New Zealand’s visas and rules: Citizens Advice Bureau Napier’s response to Questions

New Zealand has fully opened its international borders after a long time. Travel in the country is returning to the pre Covid period. The travelling in the country can be done through air and Sea.

Travellers can also visit New Zealand by sea as the maritime border is open now. Opening of the maritime border has made it possible for the travellers to enjoy the cruise ships. Although there are still some health risks, tourists are returning.

The visa waiver travellers can come and return to the country according to the conditions. Similarly the work, study and travel visa holders can also come and go from New Zealand as per their visa conditions.

Citizens Advice Bureau Napier is getting more and more enquiries about the different types of visas. CAB Napier is doing their best in responding to the questions asked by the clients.

There are questions about the length of the visitor visa. Usually a visitor visa is valid for up to nine months. You can stay for nine months in New Zealand on a visitor visa.

In case you want to extend your stay, then you should apply for the same before your current visa expires. You can apply for a three month extension. The process of applying for the extension is the same as that of applying for a new visa.

Work visas also have different categories. The eligibility depends upon the type of visa you are applying for. You can check online for the visa options and conditions as well as eligibility for the visa you want to apply for.

You can apply both online and offline for the New Zealand visa. Check the documents required for the visa both online and offline before submitting the application. Also check the conditions with your visa as different visas have different requirements and conditions.

New Zealand also has family class visas as well as child of a worker visitor visa. This visa allows the child who is 19 years or under to visit their parents in New Zealand and can also study for a period of three months. All the information about these visas can be found on the official website of CAB Napier  cab.org.nz
