Immigration and Migration: People all over the world move between various regions, switching cities, countries etc. Their reasoning differs: some want to start a new life, others marry representatives of another culture, while many individuals find a new job.  Immigration refers to relocation to a country.

There are different reasons for immigration desire to escape poverty, marrying a foreigner, finding a job that requires a permanent move, etc. Immigration is defined as the process of relocating permanently to some other country. The four types of immigration status are citizens, residents, non-immigrants and undocumented are some of the immigration types.

 

Immigration is the international movement of people to their prefered destination country where they wanted to go for different purposes. This is done to which they are not natives or where they do not possess citizenship in order to settle. Common factors can include armed conflict, disaster exposure, gender inequality, lack of job opportunities, political corruption etc are some of the reasons for it . 

 

The word migration denotes the act of moving from one place to another due to various reasons. It can be done within a country or across borders. Migration is to move, like birds in the winter.

 

Migration usually refers not to a single individual or family but a larger demographic. This includes people who move from one region to another within the borders of their own country or from one to another country. The term migrant can also include refugees.

 

A migrant is an individual who is purposefully on the move in search of a better life, a good lifestyle, better earnings etc. Migrant is a broad term that applies to an individual who willingly leaves home and moves somewhere else. Migration refers to the movement of a much larger population as compared to immigration.

 

Immigration refers to people. If we talk about the word migration can also be used in the context of animals and birds. Immigration is a hot-button issue in developed countries such as the United States, UK etc. During the great wave of immigration between 1880 and 1924, over 25 million Europeans immigrated to the USA, it is one of the best examples out there.

There are times when migration of a population set to another country sets off political strife owing to resistance from the native population.

 

Migrate means to move, like those crazy Monarch butterflies that migrate from Canada to Mexico is also a good example. Snowbirds are people who migrate south for the winter and come back north when the snow melts, or someone might migrate to another part of the country for some work purposes or other.

 

Migration is caused not only by economic factors, but also by social, political, cultural, environmental, health, education and transportation factors. Sometimes it is a part of a back-and-forth pattern, and sometimes to stay. Sometimes that movement is seasonal. Sometimes a person or group will migrate with the intention of settling somewhere.

 

In both cases, there is a definite shift. Migration is moving back to where you came from and an immigrant is an individual who willingly leaves their country of origin and legally enters another country due to various purposes. They are granted permission to permanently resettle.

 

Thus, qualifying them to work without restriction. Immigration means entering foreign country to stay there. Migration covers both immigration and emigration. Immigration is permanent. If we talk about  migration it doesn't have to be. Migration is a broad term. Immigration is a more specific and narrow one. Immigration leads to more innovation, a better educated workforce, greater occupational specialization, better matching of skills with jobs etc.
