An IT glitch in the Express Entry System affecting applicants: Confirms IRCC

IRCC confirmed a glitch in the Express Entry system. The problems started after the implementation of the NOC 2021. These are having an impact on the Express Entry Candidates.

IRCC confirmed the IT glitch in the Express Entry system after implementing the NOC 2021, including the PNP candidates.

IRCC has not provided any timeline to solve the issues, but they are closely examining them and working to resolve them.

The updates to candidates will be provided by IRCC whenever there will be new progress. Due to the glitches in the Express Entry system some ineligible candidates received the Invittion To Appply in the recent Express Entry draws.

IRCC aslo stated that they are aware about the system informing candidates that they meet the Minimum Entry Criteria (MEC) of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) even if the candidtes don’t have all required qualifications and Canadian work Experience.

Due to this, many Invitations To Apply were issued to the candidates who are ineligible and these also include applicants from the Provinicial Nominee Progrms (PNPs) during the 23 November draw of Express Entry or round of Invitations.

These system errors also have an impact on the PNP candidates. These candidates are attempting to update their EE profile to move to NOC 2021.
Some Express Entry profiles are rendered ineligible to receive ITAs due to synthetic code 93888. This synthetic code was generated by IRCC as a workaround to make sure that these candidates can assessed under NOC 2016.

The last draw on December 7 did not occur. It was unsure that whether the missed Express Entry draw was due to the IT glitch in the system.

The IT error led the applicants to go forward while the Express Entry draws were expected to be resumed.

After an 18 month pause since December 2020, all the draws of Express Entry were resumed in July 2022.

After the draws were started again, IRCC is holding draws every two weeks on Wednesdays inviting the candidates to apply.

The draw which was supposed to be held on December 7 didn’t occure and was accompanied by frustration of the potential candidates voicing out on social media.

The draws were held entirly upon the IRCC discretion. There are no law outlines about the draw period or day.

Every draw held by IRCC invited more candidates  and there has been a total of eleven draws since July. also the latestet draw invited 4,750 candidates.
