Spouse is your married partner. You have a valid marriage registration with your partner in a court of law. Your marriage should be valid in your country of origin and in Canadian law.

A Common Law Partner is a partner who is with you for a minimum of one year in a relationship. Canada recognises common-law relationships. Thus you can apply for a sponsorship. Similarly, a conjugal relationship is when you are in a relationship but unable to live together for a minimum of 12 months due to certain reasons.
