Only five additional points are required by the candidates who have the required management and financial investment minimum requirements to get the minimum passing score of 40 points.
Those points can be obtained if the applicant fulfils one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Post-secondary technical school diploma or full-time study course for two years: it adds 6 points to your profile.
- Two years of full-time studies equivalent undergraduate university degree: it will add 6 points to your profile.
Applicants under QIIP may get invited for an interview for selection which will be followed by their application review.

Eligibility requirements for the QIIP: Following are the requirements for the program:
- Applicants are required to have a minimum CAD $2,00,000 as net worth, which should be legal. It can be the net worth of the applicant alone or with the spouse if they are also accompanying you in Quebec. It may also include other assets such as bank accounts, stocks and shares, property pension funds etc.
- Minimum two years of work experience in the last five years before the application submission. The experience should be in a specific field or in a government or international agency in a full-time position.
- Retired candidates who are able to show the recent managerial experience of two years in the past five years with the capabilities of planning, supervising and financial abilities.
- The applicant must have an investment of a minimum of $1,200,000 CAD under eligible financial sources.
Steps for applying for Canadian immigration through QIIP:
There are mainly eight steps to applying for Canadian immigration through QIIP. These are:
- The first step is to submit your application to Quebec Immigration Visa Office. Your application should be complete and signed. It should also include the Identity documents and the documents to prove your financial status, i.e. your net worth. Also, the documents regarding your work, education, experience and language proficiency should be included. Incomplete applications or documents are not processed.
- After submitting your application, the next step is application assessment by the Quebec Immigration Visa Officer. Your application is carefully assessed to check if you meet the desired requirements and if all your income is legal.
- Personal Interview. If you meet the desired requirements, then you will be called for the interview. You need to submit the updated documents which are required 10 days after the interview invitation and also all the original certificates are required at the time of the interview.
- Transfer of funds. If your interview is successful, you are required to make the wire transfer of funds. Quebec Selection Certificate will be issued after the wire transfer.
- After receiving the CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate), you need to submit your application to the Federal Government within a time period of one year. The application must include the CSQ and all other documents along with the federal government processing fees.
- Canadian Immigration will send you the medical instruction after the successful assessment of your application. Medical examinations also include the family members who are added to your application.
- After the successful medical examination results, the next step is to pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF). Canadian immigration will also ask for your passports to issue the permanent residence visa.
2.You will receive your Canadian Permanent resident visa. This visa also has an expiry date.
