Manitoba Skilled Worker : Each Canadian province has their own immigration program which is commonly referred as Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Every province selects the immigrants according to the requirements of the province under the PNPs. 

 

Some provinces have one or more and sometimes integrated programs for immigrants in accordance with the labor market requirements of that province. 

 

Like other provinces, Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) is also a provincial nominee program category under  Manitoba’s Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). 

 

Just know that Manitoba Skilled Worker : 

 

Manitoba’s SWM category mainly aims at the temporary skilled workers to invite to Manitoba as immigrants and become a Canadian permanent resident.

 

The province acknowledges the international graduates and international skilled workers are the best suited candidates for Manitoba among the immigrants for having a permanent residency.  They are more keen to succeed in a fast time which will contribute to Manitoba’s economy and community positively. 

 

The province of Manitoba is not as packed as other famous provinces like Ontario , Alberta or British Columbia, but still it is a good place. Many new immigrants choose Manitoba as it is a good place with many career opportunities. 

 

Also the standards of living in the Province are high which make it an ideal place for those who enjoy high living standards and enjoy quality life. The province also welcomes the new immigrants to boost its workforce along with their families. 

 

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba category is not set under the Express Entry system. An express entry profile is not required to apply for permanent residency under skilled workers in the Manitoba category. 

 

You can apply for a permanent residency in Manitoba if you have a permanent and ongoing job offer from a Manitoba’s company in which you are working for at least six months. You don’t need to prove your eligibility for Express Entry profile.  

 

The eligible candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to MPNP and they can enter in the candidate pool. The candidates in the pool are assigned a score out of 1000 points based on their application. 

 

The applicants with top score are invited to submit the complete application under MPNP and if they fulfill the conditions of MPNP and get successful, they can apply directly to the Federal Government for permanent residence. 

 

From many past years, The MPNP was planning to remodel its immigration programs. Many changes were made and they were scheduled in 2018 to come in place. But the proposed changes were delayed for many years now. 

 

These changes also include the two new pathways in Skilled workers in Manitoba category namely: Manitoba Work Experience and Employer Direct Recruitment.  

 

Eligibility Criteria for Skilled Workers in Manitoba: The candidates need to fulfill the required eligibility criteria in order to submit the Expression Of Interest through Skilled Workers in Manitoba Category. The followings are required to submit an EOI: 

 

1. The applicant must be working for a Manitoban Employer in Manitoba. 

 

1. The applicants must be working continuously at least six months for the current Manitoban employer and should have a full time and long term job offer from the same. 

 

1. The applicants must have a valid work permit ( Temporary ) which also includes the post graduation work permit.
    
2. The candidates must have a language proficiency score to show the ability to communicate at work without problem. 
    
3. The candidates must have enough funds for settlement in Manitoba. 
    
4. The stronger Manitoba connection than any other province must be provided by applicants.
    
5. The applicants must have a proper settlement plan which should describe the intent of your stay in Manitoba. 
    
6. The employer must provide the proof of its establishment in Manitoba with the long time full term job offer provided to you. 
    

International graduates can also apply under SWM if they have a Canadian degree and have worked in Manitoba for at least one year under the Manitoban employer. However not all the work experiences are counted. 
 

The self employed, independent contractor or illegal workers (who work without work permit) are not counted in the work experience for SWM. 
 

Submission of an EOI under Skilled Workers in Manitoba: EOI or Expression of Interest is submitted by the eligible candidates which then enter into the pool where they will be assigned points out of 1000 points.

 

Only the top rankers get the Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the pool draws. These applicants with LAA are invited to submit the complete application. The Expression of Interest is submitted online which requires document uploading and answering of relevant questions. 

 

The validity of EOI is one year and then it expires. You need to submit a new EOI and enter in the pool again if you haven’t received the LAA in one year. You can update your profile after submitting the EOI and improve your score. 

 

The EOI is used to determine the eligibility of candidates under various immigration programs. The candidates can submit the EOI anytimes as it is always open and there is no limit of applicants. 

 

The Candidates in the EOI pool received the score based on their education, language, work experience and other factors. The score is allocated from a total of 1,000 points accordingly. 

 

Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA): The top score candidates are selected through the draw which is conducted every month. The minimum score till now is between 500 to 600 points out of 1,000 points.  

 

The candidates with the highest score receive the LAA. After receiving the LAA, you need to complete the application and submit it to the MPNP in 60 days. To avoid any problems later, start preparing the application before. 

 

If you are successful in your MPNP application, you can directly apply to the Canadian Government for the permanent Residency. 

 

Summary:

 

1. All provinces have their own nominee programs.
