The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), is also a PNP which selects the skilled workers to work and live in Ontario on a permanent basis. OINP selects the skilled workers and the final decision is made by the Federal Government. 

 

The main purpose of OINP is to select skilled workers to meet the requirements of the Labor market. If the applicants have skills that are required in the labor market, the OINP selects the applicants to be nominated under OINP and become a Permanent Canadian Resident including your spouse and dependent children.

 

Not only foreign skilled workers outside Canada but the people living in Canada such as international students and foreign workers with Canadian job experience can also apply through OINP by fulfilling the eligibility criteria of work, education, sponsorship and language proficiency test.

There are mainly three categories under ONIP through which candidates can apply. These categories have streams under which you have to prove your eligibility to apply. These categories are:

 

1. Employer job offer category: under this category the applicants must have an full time job offer from an Employer. The employer must be from Ontario and should fulfill Labor market requirements. The streams under this category are:
   
    
   1. Foreign Worker Stream: If you have a job offer of skill type 0, A, or B you can apply for permanent residency under this stream. Being nominated under this program you will receive an Invitation to Apply by IRCC.
      
       
   2. International Student Stream: If you have a job offer from a qualifying employer under skill type 0, A, and B, you can apply through this program. If you are an international student ,and are eligible under this stream you can apply for a permanent residency under this program.
      
       
   3. In-Demand Skills Stream: If you have an In-Demand job offer from a qualified employer such as agriculture, construction, trucking or personal work, you can get your permanent residency through this program.
       
2. Human Capital Category: Applicants must meet the requirements of education, language and work under this category. It has two subcategories.
    

1. International Graduates: it has two streams:
    

1. The Master’s Graduates Stream: An international student, having qualifications equal to Master’s in Ontario can apply through this stream living on a permanent basis in Ontario.
   
    
2. Ph.D. Graduate stream: An international student with qualifications equals a Ph.D. degree in Ontario can apply through this program for permanent residency in Ontario.
   
    

b. Ontario’s Express Entry: This also has three streams:
 

1. French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream: you can apply through this program to work in Ontario through your Express entry profile if you have excellent French Speaking skills and a good CLB score for English language proficiency. 
   
    
2. Human Capital Priorities Stream: Applicants who have required educational, work and language skills can apply under this program through the express entry profile. It should be in the inactive state, and after receiving the ITA, you are nominated to apply for permanent residence.
   
    
3. Skilled Trades stream: if you come under the required skills to fill the labour market requirements, you can apply under this program. 
   
    
4. Business Category: In this category, you can apply under the Entrepreneur stream. Foreign nationals who want to start their business in Ontario can apply under this stream. If nominated, you can apply for permanent residency under this program.
    

Every PNP has their own eligibility criteria. But to be able to get an Invitation to Apply, you must get nominated and fulfil the express entry criteria. Toronto has lots of benefits to staying in.
