Global Talent Stream: With the labor shortage, the Country is facing great difficulty.  To overcome the problem, many new changes are made in immigration programs so the skilled workers can easily come to the country. 

One of such fastest immigration programs is the Global Talent Stream (GTS). Global Talent Stream comes under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). The typical time of the application process is within 2 weeks. It was launched on 12 June 2017. 

This program is mainly focused on bringing the talented individuals from the world in the shortest time possible. The Federal Government aims on helping the high growth companies by bringing the global talent as per their requirements as soon as possible. 

The average processing time for an Express Entry profile is 6 months. But the GTS aims to process the application within 10 business days of submission. 

For hiring workers under Global Talent Stream, the employers must be registered under GTS and should create jobs for Canadians and transfer knowledge to Canadian workers, under a Labor Market Benefits Plan.

The employers are hiring the skilled professionals under The Global Talent Stream which is a broader part of Global Skills Strategy to help businesses including start-ups.

The Key Elements Of The Global Talent Stream (GTS)

• GTS has a Two-week standard or 10 business days for processing Canada work permit applications (and Canada visa applications when applicable) for highly skilled talent.

• GTS aims at providing a firm service to the companies who are making the notable job-creating outlays in Canada.

• The work permit requirements are set-down for short-term, likely for 30 days or less in a period of one year with highly skilled workers.

• The applications of the candidates under Global Talent Stream will be assessed under new streamline by the companies which is :
   
  • Client-focused service of 10 standard business days to guide eligible employers about the application process and how it will help in the Labor Market Benefits Plan development. 
    
     
  • Workers eligibility for GTS to be processed under 10 business days.
     

The Global Talent Stream Requirements: The program is mainly focused on hiring the highly skilled workers by the top organizations, to enable them in competing on the international front. It mainly has two categories Category A and Category B. 
 

All the employers under GTS must follow the LMIA for hiring the foreign employees. The usual LMIA takes months to process but in GTS many steps are removed from the process making it much faster.

The foreign candidates must be gifted with advanced skills and talent in the specified field and should have a salary of minimum $80,000 and more in case of higher salaries offered by said profession. Minimum experience of 5 years and degree in the desired field is also required.

Category B: The employers must hire highly skilled foreign workers under the following occupation list:
