You are working for a company. You need to take some time off work and want to ask your manager about this.

Write a letter to your manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

- Explain why you want to take time off work

- Give details of the amount of time you need

- Suggest how your work could be covered while you are away

Dear Manager,

I am writing to request time off work due to an urgent family matter. My [insert family member's name] is currently hospitalized, and I am responsible for their care. I am aware that this may cause some inconvenience for the team, but I hope that you can grant me the necessary time off.

I would like [insert number of days or weeks] off to care for a family member. I've already made arrangements to ensure that my responsibilities will be covered during my absence. [Include specific suggestions for how your work could be covered if you have any]

I will keep my coworkers fully apprised of my ongoing projects, and I will be available via phone or email in the event of an emergency. During my absence, I have also made arrangements for a colleague to handle any urgent tasks that may arise.

I am willing to collaborate with you to ensure a smooth transition during my absence, as I am aware that my absence may cause some inconvenience. I am grateful for your understanding and eager to return to work as soon as possible.

We appreciate your consideration.

Sincerely,

ABC
