Writing Task 1:Writing an Email

Celpip test Write an Email in about 150-200 words as you recently made reservations for dinner at a very famous and expensive restaurant in town. However, the meal and the service were terrible. The restaurant manager was not available to solve the problem, so you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the manager of the airport in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

- State what problems you had with the food you ordered
- Complain about the service
- Describe how you want the restaurant to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

Mr Manager,

I am writing this epistle to Lodge a complaint about the meal and service provided at the dinner reservation at the Grand Hotel on Tuesday 20th of May.

Initially, I was excited about throwing a birthday party for my son’s 16th birthday and made reservations ten days prior to the day of the celebration. As soon as we arrived, we were told to wait for 15 minutes, despite the fact that we had a pre-booked table. As we finally got our table and ordered our food, we waited for half an hour to receive it and were served a badly cooked meal. It was such a disappointment for all the guests as well. 

When we complained, they gave us an excuse that the restaurant was overcrowded. Our entire trip was ruined by this poor service, inspite the fact we were not served properly we were asked to pay our full bill. Secondly, as regular visitors, we recommend initiating an internal investigation as well as appointing a permanent manager in order to resolve any customer issues on the spot.
