Canada is going to process all the pending visa application by the end of the year
Due to Covid 19, visa backlog in Canada has gone around 2.7million. So, Canada has planned to process all of these pending visa applications by the end of the year 2022. As compared to the year 2019, a surge of 55% has been recorded in 2022.
Cameron MacKay, Canada’s high commissioner to India said that despite this surge, Canada is hoping to come on track by clearing these pending visa processes by the end of the year 2022.
Canada is prioritizing student visas first. Presently, more than 2,30,000 students from India took admission in post secondary colleges in Canada.
Indians are number one applicants in each and single category to apply for tourist and business visas, student visas, work permits as well as permanent residency applications. Cameron said in his statement that they are processing around 10,000 applications a week for Indians, which is not enough fast.
