5 newly-announced benefits by Canada for Indian students

Canada has recognised that the number of study permit holders will increase from 2022-2023. Canada has announced several benefits for foreign students. Expanding the strength of students and lifting working hours restrictions are among many changes and all these changes have been brought by IRCC. 

Canada is among the world’s leading destinations for international students owing to multiple factors and it includes affordability, work and permanent residence opportunities etc. 

Canada hosted over 620,000 international students in 2021. Also issued nearly 450,000 new study permits.

The number of study permit holders will increase to approximately 753,000 international students according to a report by CIC News from 2022-2023. There will be more opportunities available for students.

Canada is also planning to explore the expansion of Student Direct Stream and it will allow fast-track study permits for candidates from many countries. 

In order to manage the labor shortage in the country, Canada is also planning to promote transition to permanent residence for international students. Canada's immigration authority has promised to publish monthly data on backlogs, in order to help international students track their applications. 

For over 20 hours per week, Canada has also allowed international students to work off-campus.

Who have already submitted a study permit application, it can also be availed by foreign nationals.
