Novak Djokovic’s return for Australian Open: Will former world no. 1 be granted a Visa?

Novak Djokovic the previous world no. 1 was banned by Morrison Government for 3 years amid the Covid -19 Vaccination issue because the player refused to induce vaccination. He was deported and banned for 3 years from re- entering Australia.

But the Nine time Australian open champion has decided to reapply for the visa on compelling grounds to be granted another chance. Dan Tehan has welcomed the return of Novak Djokovic to Melbourne for the Australian Open, with respect of immigration system.

 Serbia's Novak Djokovic hopes to return to Australia and win his 10th Aus Open slam in January. Mr Tehan told Sky News Australia on Monday morning that although he’d like to see Djokovic return, the "integrity" of Australia’s borders needed to be the utmost priority.

Mr Tehan said that The rules have changed as you are not required to be vaccinated anymore. I would love to see the great game with Novak Djokovic’s participation this year.

 “If they decide that he can come, they’ve need to do so in making that call during a thanks to protect the integrity of our immigration system.”

The shadow immigration minister also defended the previous Liberal government’s decision to ban the tennis great from Australia as he didn’t meet the requirements for immigration that time.
